Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, November 1, 2024, Kolkata – In a significant move to foster community engagement and support for various social issues, Governor CV Anand Bose has announced the launch of a new initiative titled ‘Apna Bharat – Jagta Bengal.’ This program marks the second anniversary of his tenure as the Governor of West Bengal and aims to directly connect with citizens across the state.
In a statement shared on his X handle on Thursday evening, Governor Bose outlined nine key components of the initiative. As part of this comprehensive program, the Governor plans to visit 250 locations throughout West Bengal, with a focus on engaging with marginalized communities, including visits to orphanages and old age homes in tribal areas.
One of the highlights of the initiative is the ‘Governor at Door’ program, inspired by government outreach efforts. This component seeks to bring the Governor’s office closer to the people, providing an avenue for citizens to voice their concerns and suggestions directly. Additionally, the ‘Governor in Campus’ initiative will facilitate interactions between the Governor and students at various schools and colleges, fostering dialogue on educational and social issues.
The Governor also introduced the ‘Jan Ki Baat’ program, designed to allow everyday citizens to meet with him and share their thoughts. “This program is about listening to the voices of the people and understanding their aspirations,” Governor Bose stated. He emphasized that everyone should feel empowered to contribute to the dialogue.
In a bid to encourage social responsibility and community service, the Governor announced the ‘Governor’s Golden Group,’ a special opportunity for individuals looking to make a positive impact in society. Furthermore, the ‘Governor’s Scholarship Scheme’ aims to provide financial assistance to underprivileged students, ensuring that education remains accessible to all.
Governor Bose also unveiled the ‘Governor’s Award Scheme,’ which will recognize outstanding contributions across various sectors in society. “We must celebrate those who are making a difference in our communities and inspire others to follow suit,” he remarked.
Through these initiatives, Governor CV Anand Bose aims to bridge the gap between the government and the populace, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual support. The ‘Apna Bharat – Jagta Bengal’ program promises to be a pivotal step toward enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of West Bengal, encouraging active participation in social development.
