KalimNews, September 14, 2024, Gorubathan : In a significant move towards local development, the GTDS (Gorubathan Tourism Development Society) Team convened a pivotal meeting with Suryamani Rai, the Panchayat Sabhapati of Gorubathan Block on September 14, 2024. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the pending proposals for a series of development projects aimed at enhancing the region’s infrastructure and community services.
The meeting centered on several crucial proposals submitted by the GTDS Team a few months ago. These proposals are designed to address various aspects of local development and include:
Gorkha Traditional Park: This project aims to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gorkha community through a dedicated park.
Renovation of the Hanging Bridge: Located at Punjab Tar, this renovation is essential for ensuring the safety and usability of a key local structure.
Adventure Tourism Initiatives: Targeted at boosting tourism, these initiatives are designed to offer new recreational opportunities and attract visitors.
Children’s Park: This project will provide a safe and engaging space for local children, promoting their development and recreation.
IT Park: Planned to be constructed by WEBEL, this IT Park is intended to foster technological advancement and create new job opportunities in the region.
Repair and Maintenance of Nim Jhandi Road: This proposal focuses on improving connectivity and transportation, crucial for the upcoming tourist season.
GTDS President Shyam Thapa, who led the delegation, emphasized the importance of expediting the implementation of these projects. Thapa outlined the potential benefits for the local community, including economic growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced quality of life.
Accompanying Thapa were Secretary Tufan Subba and GTDS Founder Dr. Pawan Thapa. Both leaders voiced strong support for the timely progression of these projects, underscoring their collective commitment to regional development.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with the Panchayat Sabhapati assuring the GTDS Team of a thorough review of the proposals. The Sabhapati committed to escalating the proposals to the District Magistrate (DM) and other higher authorities for further consideration and action.
The GTDS Team expressed their gratitude for the Sabhapati’s prompt response and commitment to the projects. They remain hopeful for a swift and favorable resolution, which is expected to significantly benefit the Gorubathan Block community by enhancing local infrastructure and services.
PTI, June 9, 2024 : Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut on Saturday criticised people praising the CISF woman constable who allegedly slapped her, asking if they also justify “rape or murder”. Ranaut, in a video message on Thursday, said she was hit in the face and abused by the constable during a security check at the Chandigarh airport. “If you are aligned with the criminals strong emotional impulse to commit a crime violating all laws of the land.
“Remember if you are ok with breaking in to someone’s intimate zone, without their permission touching their bodies and assaulting them then deep down you are ok with rape or murder also because that’s also just penetration or stab only what big deal, you must look deeper in to your psychological criminal tendencies (sic),” the 37-year-old posted on X. In her video message, Ranaut said she was hit in the face and abused by a CISF constable, who appeared to be upset with the actor over her stance on the farmer protests, during security check at the Chandigarh airport.
The ugly fracas broke out two days after she was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Kulwinder Kaur, the accused CISF personnel, has been suspended and an investigation has been launched. The CISF, tasked with providing security at airports, has also ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.
In her latest post, Ranaut also advised people to “take up yoga and meditation or else life will become a bitter and burdensome experience”.
“Don’t carry so much grudge, hate and jealousy please , free yourself,” the actor added.
Earlier on Saturday, Ranaut found support from cinema veteran Shabana Azmi, who said security officials should not take law into their hands.
In a post on X, Azmi said though she has “no love lost” for Ranaut, she wouldn’t join people who are celebrating the “slap”. “I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can’t find myself joining this chorus of celebrating ‘the slap’. If security personnel start taking law into their hands, none of us can be safe,” Azmi wrote.
Azmi’s husband, veteran screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar, has filed a defamation case against Ranaut over her remarks that he had threatened her. The case is still in court.
CISF cop to get gold ring engraved with Periyar’s image
COIMBATORE: Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) in Coimbatore is planning to send a gold ring engraved with Periyar’s image to CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur who slapped actor and newly elected BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport a few days ago.
TPDK general secretary Ku Ramakrishnan on Saturday said, “We are planning to send an eight gram gold ring on Monday to appreciate Kulwinder Kaur who stood up for the farmers. Her mother was among the farmers holding a sit-in protest against farm laws.”
“We will send the ring to Kulwinder Kaur’s home address. If the courier services won’t accept gold ring, we will send one of our members to her home, either by train or flight, to hand over the ring along with some books about Periyar,” he said.
CISF woman constable gets offer of legal assistance
CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who has been booked under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) for allegedly slapping actor and BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut, has got legal assistance support.
According to Times of India, Kulwinder has received support from individuals and organisations, some of whom offered her monetary and legal help if she was arrested or dismissed from service.As per TOI, 82-year-old farm activist Mohinder Kaur, who had previously filed a defamation suit against Kangana for her remarks on the farm protest, has offered support to the suspended constable.
“Kangana has no of how to speak. Since she has been elected as an MP, she should be polite. She tried to brand Punjabis as extremists. She used derogatory words for us,” the octogenarian told the paper.

hiking trail for outdoor adventure
enthusiasts.
May 29 marks the 110th birth
anniversary of Tenzing Norgay
and 71st year of summit of
Everest. On this day in 1953
Tenzing and Sir Edmund Hillary
scaled the highest peak on earth
for the first time.
The hiking trail will start
from Chowrasta, the most popular
square of Darjeeling and end at
Sidrapong which is considered as
the first hydroelectric project of
Asia. The 10 km trail will take
tourists through picturesque
landscapes and lush green tea
gardens. There will be stops at the
Tibetan Museum, Tenzing’s
house, Ava Art Gallery, the
historic Burdwan Palace and the
Arya tea garden,
all of which are
located in low
altitude and
tourist hiking
friendly.
“In the past too
the GTA
introduced short
hiking trails for
tourists and
adventure
enthusiasts. This
year we have
launched a 10 km
trail from
Chowrasta to
Sidrabong. We
have already conducted a trial run
and have found that is will be
convenient and easy for the
tourists,” said the GTA’s
department of adventure
tourism, coordinator, Dawa
Gyalpo Sherpa. The return
journey will be by vehicles via
the Orange Valley tea estate.
Last year, the GTA introduced
a 12 km hiking trail from
Chowrasta to Tiger Hill. “With
these long hiking trails, we intend
to promote eco-friendly tourism
and encourage tourists to take up
healthier travel activities,” the

during the day to
commemorate
Tenzing’s birth
anniversary. Floral
tribute was offered
at the Samadhi of
Tenzing located
within the HMI
premise.
“It is a matter of great pride
that he (Tenzing Norgay) was the
first field director of our institute.
We continue to follow in his
footstep. The tourists got to know
about the birth anniversary of the
first person to summit Everest and
his connection with the HMI,”
said the HMI principal, Group
Captain Jai Kishan. Tenzing died
on May 9, 1986 in Darjeeling and
was cremated inside the HMI and
his Samadhi has now become a
popular must visit spot.

world. We will continue to
request the Government to
respect the wish of the people,”

Dawa Gyalpo Sherpa, the chief coordinator of Adventure Tourism for the GTA, conducted a survey in Gorubathan to identify opportunities for both tourists and locals. He highlighted the area’s suitability for activities such as paragliding, rock climbing, and riverside camping.
Prashant Rana, an expert in paragliding adventure tourism, along with his team, surveyed various locations and confirmed the potential for promoting adventure tourism in the region. During discussions with the Gorubathan Tourism Development Society (GTDS), the team exchanged ideas for developing tourism infrastructure. Sherpa announced that the GTA team plans to conduct test flights for paragliding in selected areas to further assess feasibility.
This initiative aims to boost the local economy by attracting adventure tourists and providing new recreational opportunities for residents. The development of adventure tourism in Gorubathan is expected to capitalize on its natural beauty and diverse landscapes, making it a significant destination for thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.

Sanchita Aich Bag, MP, 4 May 2024, Siliguri: The Bengal Safari Park authorities have introduced their newest members to visitors this summer vacation. After nearly two months, five newborn cubs of Royal Bengal Tigress Sheela were escorted out of the night shelter into the display area.
The cubs made their debut in the ‘kraal’ (enclosure) this week, where visitors will be able to see them. However, they won’t be released for safari in open enclosures at the moment. It will take more time before they can roam freely in the safari area.
Meanwhile, the two lions from Tripura are expected to be ready for safari in July. Vijay Kumar, Director of Bengal Safari Park, stated: “All five cubs, one male and four females, are healthy and in good spirits.
Round-the-clock surveillance is ongoing but they are still too young to be released for the safari. They have been moved from the night shelters to ‘kraals’ or small enclosures for public viewing.” Recently, Sourav Chowdhury,
Member Secretary of the West Bengal Zoo Authority, and Bhaskar J V, Chief Forest Officer (Wildlife), visited the park to inspect the condition of the new cubs and lions. The Member Secretary of the Zoo Authority expressed satisfaction with the cubs’ health condition.
Sheela gave birth to five cubs at the Bengal Safari Park on March 6. With this, Sheela became a mother for the fourth time. Sheela gave birth to seven cubs earlier.
This time, Sheela and Vivaan, the Royal Bengal Tiger couple, gave birth to five cubs. With this, the number of Royal Bengal Tigers at the Safari Park stood at 14. Out of which, six are male and eight are female.
The park authorities are hopeful that these new cubs will attract more tourists to the park.

Shared by IAS Sanjay Kumar on X, the video captures the heart-pounding exchange between the animals at Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh.
The video begins with the tigress swiftly walking through the sides of the way towards the tall grass when it notices a sloth bear approaching. The tigress then takes a moment and sits at a distance, waiting for the sloth bear to cross the road.
As the video progresses, the tigress crosses the road to make sure the sloth bear is gone. However, in the blink of an eye, the sloth bear reappears and aggressively charges at the tigress. The encounter ends with the sloth bear disappearing into the tall grass.

बरेली। पंजाबी महासभा सोसाइटी और पंजाबी अकादमी लखनऊ द्वारा आयोजित भव्य लोहड़ी मेला गुरुवार 11 जनवरी को होटल रेडिसन में शाम 7 बजे से कर रही है। इसको लेकर पांच तारा होटल रेडिसन स्पॉन्सर शिप कर रहा है। इसमें मशहूर पंजाबी कलाकार दीप मनी द्वारा रंगारंग कार्यक्रम की साय 7 बजे प्रस्तुति दी जाएगी।
प्रस्तुति के बाद पंजाबी महासभा भव्य लोहड़ी मेले में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित किया है। होटल शेफ मनोज द्वारा विभिन्न प्रकार के मल्टी कुजीन, लजीज व्यंजनों को तैयार किया जा रहा है। जो अतिथियों का जायका बढ़ाएंगे।
प्रेसवार्ता के दौरान यतिन भाटिया ने कार्यक्रम की विस्तृत जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि यह लोहड़ी कार्यक्रम बेटियों के नाम है।

भव्य लोहडी मेले में हार्दिक स्वागत एवं अभिनंदन को पंजाबी महासभा ने सभी को आगामी लोहड़ी पर्व की लख लख अग्रिम बधाइयां देते हुए यतिन भाटिया द्वारा जानकारी दी गई है कि सभी के द्वारा लोहड़ी पर्व को बना कर वर्ष 2024 में जन्मी कन्याओं के मां बाप को बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ की मुहिम को आगे बढ़ाते हुए सम्मानित किया जाएगा।
होटल जनरल मैनेजर हर्षित उप्पल द्वारा जानकारी दी गई है कि होटल रेडिसन में कार्यक्रम को लेकर सभी तैयारियां पूरी कर ली गई है। कार्यक्रम को भव्य बनाने के लिए शहर में सभी को सम्मानित तरीके से कार्ड व एंट्री पास से सादर आमंत्रित किया गया है। सभी युवा भव्य लोहड़ी मेले के कार्यक्रम को लेकर काफी उत्साहित है। जो की बहुत बड़ी संख्या में लोहड़ी मेले में साथियों के साथ शिरकत करेंगे।

बरेली। इज़्ज़तनगर क्षेत्र में स्थित मसीही कलीसिया चर्च में वर्ष 2023 के अन्तिम दिन रेव्ह. संजय पॉल ने छोटे बच्चों को गिफ़्ट देकर 2023 के अन्तिम दिन पूरे वर्ष में परमेश्वर के किये हुए कार्यों व उसकी दया के लिए धन्यवाद दिया और नववर्ष 2024 को प्रार्थनाओं का वर्ष बताया और देशहित के लिए प्रार्थना कर सबको आशीष दी। आज के दिन पास्टर जॉनसन, पास्टर रविन्द्र, पास्टर मुकेश आदि मौजूद रहे।
चर्च प्रांगण में ही मसीही कलीसिया चर्च की ओर से खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया जिसका संचालन भाई सोनू ने किया, जिसमें बोरी दौड़, चम्मच दौड़, रस्सा-कस्सी, ब्लाइंड फोल्ड आदि खेलों का आयोजन किया गया।
खेलकूद में बच्चों व वयस्कों सभी ने हिस्सा लिया, जीतने वालों को पुरस्कार देकर पुरस्कृत किया गया तत्पश्चात सामुहिक भोज, चाय आदि की व्यवस्था भी कलीसिया की तरफ सी की गई।
खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता में प्रिंस, जैफ, रेव्ह. संजय पॉल, मंतशा, मुन्नी आंटी, रिनी, अनिल कुमार, पूनम, ज़िदान, गैवी, शालू आदि विजेता रहे। रेव्ह. संजय पॉल ने सभी के लिए प्रार्थना कर आशीर्वाद दिया तथा समाज व देशहित के लिए दुआएं की व आराधना का संचालन पास्टर मुकेश ने किया।
