The incident, which occurred in Ward No. 113, Dinesh Nagar, sparked widespread outrage among local residents who staged a protest and blocked the road in response to the tragic death.
Eyewitnesses and locals expressed deep frustration, stating that roadwork had been ongoing for several days without proper safety measures, leaving the area dangerous for pedestrians. They allege that the JCB lost control due to speeding on the poorly maintained road, resulting in the tragic accident. Despite efforts to rescue the student and rush him to the hospital, Soumya succumbed to his injuries.
