Anandam, founded in 2017 by alumni of the Kolkata Advaita Ashram’s Vivekananda Study Circle, has consistently dedicated itself to community service, aiming to uplift the less fortunate in West Bengal. Since its inception, the organization has made significant strides in various charitable initiatives, including clothing distributions, medical support, and essential food supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s event was a continuation of their mission to serve the poor and marginalized, reinforcing their commitment to the principle of “Nara-Narayana Seva,” or serving humanity as a form of serving the divine.
The presence of Anandam’s President, Dr. Malay Dasgupta, along with key members such as Gaurik Dasgupta, Ark Naha, Abhik Pramanik, Rajdeep Dutta, Arpan Sarkar, Madhumanti Pal, Shuvabrata Chand, and Arani Bhattacharya, added a personal touch to the event. Their engagement with the children during the distribution highlighted the importance of community support and the joy that comes from giving.
The Vivekananda Health Seva Sangh, a respected 35-year-old organization, focuses on primary healthcare in underprivileged villages across West Bengal. With roots established in Belur Math, the organization has long been dedicated to enhancing health and social awareness in remote areas. Recently, they have also begun initiatives to set up high-quality primary education, ensuring that children not only receive education but also develop character and various talents in a nurturing environment.
The collaboration between Anandam and the Vivekananda Health Seva Sangh exemplifies the spirit of unity and compassion, particularly during the festive season of Durga Puja. Through this initiative, both organizations have made a significant impact in the lives of the students, reinforcing the message that kindness and community service can bring joy and hope to those who need it most. As they continue their efforts, Anandam and the Vivekananda Health Seva Sangh remain committed to uplifting the less fortunate and ensuring that every child experiences the joy and warmth of the festive season.
