Minister Pulak Roy Predicts TMC Victory in Upcoming Assembly Elections, Attacks Opposition at Maheshpur Event

Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews,  December 3, 2024, Kolkata :  Public Works Department Minister Pulak Roy, a prominent leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has confidently predicted that his party will secure a fourth consecutive term in the upcoming 26th assembly elections, targeting 260 seats. Speaking at a blood donation camp and children’s reunion festival organized by the Maheshpur region TMC, Roy reiterated his belief in the party’s imminent victory and launched a scathing attack on opposition political parties.

The event, held in Maheshpur, saw over 200 blood donors contribute to the cause, prompting the minister to refer to the gathering as a “blood festival” in recognition of the generous donations. Besides his remarks about the election outcome, Roy took the opportunity to criticize the 34-year tenure of the Left Front government in West Bengal, which he claimed, despite its popular mandate, failed to stand by the people. Additionally, the minister directed sharp criticism at the BJP-led central government, accusing it of being out of touch with the needs of the people.

Roy’s statements were made alongside other key leaders of the Trinamool Congress, including Gopinath Banerjee, Vice President of Howrah Rural District TMC; Ajay Mandal, Chairman of Howrah Zilla Parishad; Atindra Shekhar Pramanik, President of Uluberia-1 Panchayat Samiti; and Azizul Islam Mollah, President of Maheshpur region TMC. The event also featured other notable figures such as Pooja Makhal, President of Maheshpur Gram Panchayat, Sheikh Sahabar, Vice President of Maheshpur Gram Panchayat, and Debashish Banerjee, President of Howrah Rural District TMC Youth Congress.

The gathering served not only as a community-focused event but also as a platform for political messaging, as the TMC continues to rally support in anticipation of the upcoming elections. With the opposition in his sights, Pulak Roy’s bold predictions and critique of the current political climate reflect the TMC’s continued determination to maintain its stronghold in the state.
